The Ceremony

Just Before

  • Again with the Timeline!
Having that timeline thought through and written out will help put you at ease and be able to just enjoy the day. Let the pros worry about the details at this point, and go get married!

  • Plan Ahead!
Discuss your preferences with your photographer before the wedding day; you can even create a photo “to-do” list if you have certain poses, moments or angles you’d like to focus on.

During

  • Savor the Moment
Try to be the most present you can be. Take all of the mental photos (and allow your photographer to take the real ones!), take long looks at each other, at your loved ones, listen to every word and try not to worry about if the reception decor has been placed just right, or if your veil is twisted (if it is, we’ll have fixed it for you).

    Just be.

  • Posture & Body Language!
Stand close together, a bit closer than arms length, and feel free to hold hands at any point! Also keep in mind your resting face while you’re listening to your officiant’s words.

  • Be “Unplugged”!
Consider asking guests to keep their cell phones and personal cameras tucked away during the ceremony. This will avoid those items appearing in your forever photographs, and allow everyone to be present with you. An “unplugged ceremony” can be announced by the officiant during their welcoming words, or written on a welcome sign at the ceremony entrance.

  • First Kiss
The moment you’ve been waiting for. You’ve been announced and it’s finally time to seal it with a kiss!
Take a breath together while giving your officiant a moment to step out of the way (your photographer will have communicated this with them beforehand), and embrace! Whether you’re a big snog or a long smooch kind of couple, keep it sweet and classy, and long enough for your photographer to get the chance to capture this iconic moment.

Just After

  • Celebrate!
Have fun and celebrate! Fist pump the air, high five, cheer, whatever your joy induces! Everyone will be celebrating you two, you might as well lead the fun!

  • Mid-Aisle Dip Kiss
A fun little extra kiss halfway down the aisle during your recessional makes for a super fun moment and a beautiful photo. Bonus points for a dip kiss!
